Artist Statement

“It all starts with geometry.”

Everything in the world around us can be broken down into different geometrical shapes; from the buildings we live in to the tires on our cars. My goal is to bring this principal to life through my artwork.

Any illustration or sketch is an assembly of line segments that come together to form an image. I simply try to bring these concepts to life in a 3D image that is mathematically precise in every way.

Artist Bio

Aaron Jaymes Booker is a Houston-based artist originally from El Paso, Texas. Born into a military family Aaron has lived all over the world including Germany where he lived for 3 years before settling in El Paso.

He then went on to obtain a degree in Mathematics before becoming a 7th grade math teacher. After a few years of teaching and studying mathematics, Aaron has decided to return to his original passion to create.

As a child, Aaron often enjoyed illustrating comics or constructing models of all sorts. Any activity that called for the use of his hands were always his favorite. Many of these early hobbies lead to his aspirations of becoming an artist.

As a result, his art is a combination of some of his favorite childhood pastimes with mathematical concepts such as line segments, angles, coordinate points, similar and congruent figures, symmetry, and parallel lines used to create a precise 3D image.
