John Bernhard

About

John Bernhard, is a Swiss American artist, photographer, designer, and writer who traveled North America extensively before settling in Houston, Texas in 1980.

He is the owner of Bernhard Associates Inc., a 30 year old branding and creative communications firm specializing in the energy and real estate sectors for clients around the world.

In addition, John Bernhard is the publisher of ArtHouston, a magazine devoted to covering the city’s thriving cultural scene.

Furthermore, his artistic career began in 1985 with a solo exhibition at the Houston Center for Photography, followed by more than 30 solo shows, three museum exhibitions, throughout the U.S. and Europe. He is also the author of 9 books and his photographs are included in 20 museum’s permanent collections. In 2004 the Museum of the Swiss Abroad in Geneva honored Bernhard with a retrospective exhibition of his work.
