Neil Ellis Orts
About
A writer and performer, I pursue opportunities in literary journals as well as performance venues. I define "performance" broadly and enjoy playing on the edges of any one medium. My college training was in theater, my interests and aesthetic are heavily influenced by modern and postmodern dance, and my practice lean more and more toward performance art. So depending upon the individual project, I may be performing on a stage in a fairly traditional manner or I might be moving abstractly in a nook or cranny. My work is influenced as well by my theological training in the Lutheran tradition. While I don't always make work that overtly references my faith, issues of incarnation and justice and Good News are never far from my mind.
